Cox's Bazar is Bazar is the longest natural sandy sea beach in the world. It is 125 km long and most attractive tourist site in Bangladesh. The town is located 150 kilometer south of Chittagong. The name Cox's Bazar originates from Captain Hiram an officer of British India.Miles of sandy, green-blue water, dreams sun set and beautiful beach attract the peoples. It’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Asia.

Some tourist destinations near by Cox’s Bazar:

Himchari: It is about 32 km. South of Cox's Bazar along the beach, a nice place for picnic. The famous "Broken Hills" and waterfalls here are rare sights.

Inani: It is about 32 km South of Cox's Bazar and just on the beach, with the sea to the west and a background of steep hills to the east. It is only half an hour's drive from Cox's Bazar and an ideal place for Sea-bathing and picnic.


Moheshkhali: It’s a beautiful island near by Cox's Bazar. It has an area of 268 square kilometers. Through the centre of the island and along the eastern coast line rises a range of low hills, 300 feet high; but the coast to the west and north is a lowlying treat, fringed by mangrove jungle. In the hills on the coast is built the shrine of Adinath, dedicated to siva. By its side on the same hill is Buddhist Pagoda.

Ramu: It’s about 16 km from Cox's Bazar, on the main road to Chittagong. There are monasteries, khyangs and pagodas containing images of Buddha in gold, bronze and other metals inlaid with precious stones. It’s a typical Buddhist village. The village has a charm of its own. Weavers ply their trade in open workshops and craftsmen make handmade cigars in their pagoda like houses.

Sonadia: It’s also a beautiful island about seven kilometer of Cox's Bazar and about nine square kilometer in area. The western side of the island is sandy and different kinds of shells are found on the beach. There are beds of window pane oysters of the northern part of the island. During winter, fishermen set up temporary camps on the island and dry their catches of sea fish in sunshine.
Saint Martin: This small coral island of the Bay of Bengal, about 10 km south-west from the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf. It’'s a clean and peaceful place with coconut palms. The local name of this island is ‘Narikel Jinjira’. St. martin island is one of the most beautiful place of beautiful Bangladesh.

  2. could you please add some information on hotel and how to go there? many visitors (specially foreigners) are eager to see many of our places, but cannot decide without accommodation and transportation info. addition of what fun activities (horse ride/ boat ride etc.) can be done there would be an added competence for the place.
